“According to the 2025 crime statistics, serious crimes such as violence against women and children, theft, and murder have increased significantly, posing a grave concern for social security and human rights in Bangladesh.
Manusher Jonno Aini Sohayota (MAJAS) observes that the preventive and proactive role of law enforcement agencies remains unsatisfactory. Widespread inefficiency, corruption, and negligence among certain members of the police have eroded public trust in the justice system.
MAJAS believes that this lack of accountability within law enforcement has contributed to a culture of impunity and fear in society.
The organization urges the government to ensure transparency, enhance professional capacity, and promote human rights–based policing to restore confidence and justice for all citizens.”
